Some Switch players lamented that the long awaited literary upgrade would not play at all. Some PC players stated that once downloaded, Doki Doki Literature Club Plus was not showing up in their Steam library. However, many discovered that there was an issue when attempting to play the game. All I would be doing if I bought the thing would be reading or watching. It’s a sorta sequel of a visual novel, except with even less game stuff this time around. Given the nature of Doki Doki Literature Club Plus, I think that’s a decent substitute. Plenty of Doki Doki fans were excited about the new release and pre-purchased the game in advance. I have watched a bunch of videos, both playthroughs and the thoughts of others. The newer version, Doki Doki Literature Club Plus, is not a sequel to the game, but more of an expanded version with new features, such as a music player, concept art, and side stories, which shed light on the character’s tragic backstories. Doki Doki prompts you to create poems through minigames, and certain words are used to entice different members of the club to form a romantic relationship with the player. You'll explore as the nameless protagonist who is coerced into joining the Literary Club by their lovable childhood best friend, Sayori.

The original Doki Doki Literature Club launched in 2017 on PC.

Doki Doki Literature Club Plus! is out today for Nintendo Switch, PS4/PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Store.
